Problem Note 68630: Re-forecasting a project fails with "An exception was caught while processing the variable XXX" in SAS® Forecast Studio
In SAS Forecast Studio, when you re-forecast your project, an error similar to the following might be displayed in the SAS log:
ERROR: An exception was caught while processing the variable XXX. An attempt will be made to forecast the series using exponential smoothing.
The problem occurs when your project contains ARIMA models, unobserved components models, and combined models. The following three options would be enabled in Project ► Forecasting Settings:
- System-generated ARIMA model(s)
- System-generated unobserved components models
- Combine Diagnosed Models
To work around the problem, disable one of the options so that one of the following combinations of models is used in your project.
- ARIMA models and unobserved components model
OR
- ARIMA models and combined models
